Nichols, NY — Bolt Of Beauty (Markus Miller) came from last to first to capture the featured $10,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Tioga Downs on Saturday (June 19).
Lyons Girlhanover (Larry Stalbaum) got to the first quarter first in :27.4. Landry Seelster was first to challenge as they went around the clubhouse turn. Lyons Girlhanover held the lead to the half in :58.1. She shook off the challenge of Landry Seelster and was first to three-quarters in 1:26.0.
Bolt Of Beauty ($6.60) was last at three-quarters. Shecouldbegood N (Mike Merton) came three-wide in the stretch with American Delight N (Wally Hennessey) found an opening on the inside and grabbed the lead. Bolt Of Beauty came flying like her tail was on fire and swooped right on by to win in 1:54.3. American Delight N finished second with Shecouldbegood N earning third place.
Bolt Of Beauty is a 4-year-old mare by Bolt The Duer. She is owned by Tenah Marah Farms, Sarah Miller, and trainer Erv Miller. It was her fourth win of the season and the 11th win of her career.
Braxten Boyd drove three winners on the card while Marcus Miller, Larry Stalbaum, and Wally Hennessey each hade driving doubles. Joe Skowyra had a training double on the night.
